The 4.7” International Staunton Chess Pieces are a reproduction inspired by English chess sets popular around 1800, before the Staunton design became an international standard for tournament chess. The pieces feature a distinctive traditional profile with an antiqued finish and ebonized boxwood construction.
Each chessman is hand-carved and artificially aged to create a vintage patina effect. The pieces are double weighted with lead studs in the base, providing additional ballast and stability during play. A substantial size and traditional design make this set suitable for larger chessboards.
The set includes 34 chess pieces along with a plastic storage box. The chessboard is not included with this product.
