The St George design chess pieces are handcrafted using Antiqued Boxwood and Ebonised Boxwood. Each chessman is finished with a green felt base to help protect the chessboard surface during play. The pieces feature carefully proportioned traditional forms and are designed to complement the included 21-inch board.

The chessmen follow the St George design with individually crafted pieces in different sizes for each chess role. The 4.2-inch King provides a substantial centerpiece for the set, while the Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook and Pawn are proportioned accordingly.
