The Premium Staunton chess pieces are carefully carved from Rosewood and Boxwood and finished by hand. Each chessman features a green leather felt base to help protect the chessboard surface during play. The pieces are individually polished using solid lacquer and a buffing wheel for a smooth, finished appearance.

The traditional Staunton design provides a balanced and coordinated set of chessmen, with the 3.1-inch King serving as the largest piece. Each piece has been proportioned for the included 16-inch chessboard.
